Receiving message "Extension 0 is invalid"

One of the sites I support (200/300) is having a problem. Speradicly, when you dial an extension and get transfered into the vm system you hear "Extension 0 is invalid, please enter another extension number". You should be reaching the mailbox number. I have also received this same message while dialing the pilot # directly. I ran Trace reports and it shows 0 as the receiving mbx and not the 4 digit mailbox number. See below, where that 0 is should be the mailbox number that the caller is trying to reach... Any idea?

This is because the index 1 of the port - information table points on a non-existing extension number, or the extension is busy.

If you write the following at the update prompt:

.L INFO

TABLE 255 (PORT INFO)
1 INTERCEPT MAILBOX 99
(here is more info)...


If 99 is the operator, the operators group will consist of more extensions or operator console, then you will not have any problems.
BUT if 99 is a single extension , that is busy from time to time, you will get this error message:"Extension 0 is invalid, please enter another extension number".

The advice is to have a group to answer calls like this not a single extesion.

Or, perhaps you should check the ports of the system.
If you call in on all ports, one or two ports could have this problem, and the rest of the ports could be working fine.
If the problem is like this, then you must check the integration for each port towards the PBX.
The integration setup for the PBX does not match the setup for the voice mail system.
