Has anyone used a direct thermal printer to print out receiving labels?
We are exploring the option of printing out pallet tags using this method. I've created a form that will print 3.5 X 8 (3 Up) labels on a 8.5x11 sheet. We'd like to print them out though on a thermal printer, but I have not seen one that prints 8" wide. Can these be printed out sideways?
Any ideas or best practices would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks!

Zebra's Eltron ribbonless thermal printers will print those in a single row the most economically. The printers only cost a few hyndred bucks and they run for years with zero maintenance. I've never seen a 3 up for heavy duty commerical use, those are usually used when you want to cheap out and use a laser printer to print your labels. Best bet is to call the guys at Zebra (800.423.0422). If they don't make a printer like that I doubt if anyone does.
