Hi everybody.

Working with Linux CentOs 5.10 and Sendmail 8.13.8

I'm new with Sendmail, I suppose my question is a stupid question, but it is.

My problem is a masquerade problem.

When the user jhon, from the server send a email like jhon@serv01.mydomain.com, Sendmail change the @serv01.mydomain.com to @mydomain.com, so this part, outgoing mails, work good.

The problem is when I send a email to jhon@mydomain.com, in this case I loose the email, I know that sendmail received it, manage and so on, I see this in maillog, but I don't know more about this mail.

But when I send mail to jhon@serv01.mydomain.com, all work good and perfect. Jhon receives his email and can access it through Usermin.

Can anyone help me with this?

Regards. Jose Benitez.

I see that this was posted quite a while back, but just in case...

What error do you see in your log file - /var/log/maillog?

If you see a line that ends in something similar to:
stat=Service unavailable

You'll need to edit your sendmail.mc file and make sure you have an entry similar to:
LOCAL_DOMAIN(`mydonain.com')dnl

If you do not, then add it - change mydomain.com to something relevant to you.

Run the m4 macro to create the sendmail.cf file:
m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf

Restart sendmail:
service sendmail restart

Hopefully that resolves it for you...

Cheers,
ak.
