One of our users is receiving e-mails with X's any place where there should be a picture. His secretary receives the same e-mail with not problem. I have checked his location document against his secretaries, and mine. No difference in the settings. Is there a setting somewhere else that controls pictures coming into the Inbox? Thank you very much for your help.

Hello,

Edit the users person document in the NAB (names.nsf) on the Server. If your using R6, check the "Format preference for incoming mail", change to 'Keep in senders format'. If you're using R5, change to 'No Preference'.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John

Thank you for your quick response. I believe the names.nsf is in R6 format, and in the field you mentioned, all of our users are set at "Keep in senders format". I checked, and both the user and his secretary have that set correctly. Anything else I could check. Thanks again.

I had the same problem and the fix seemed, at the time, silly - but it worked. (I don't have Notes on the computer that I'm at, so please bear with the vagueness.) It looks like you know what you're doing with the program so you should have no problem.

Edit the person's "location" and go to the web tab. Change the default web browser to Notes. Save and exit, Go back in and change it back to Internet Explorer.

I'd tried your suggestion, and no-go. I'll keep that one in mine though for future reference.
I've been doing testing by sending e-mails from inside and out. If I send an in-house e-mail, he gets the picture with no problem, but if I use my outside MSN.COM account (using one of MSN's advertising pictures), the user gets just X's. Thanks again for your help.

Not sure why this worked, but I changed the setting in the user's Location Document from "Microsoft Internet Explorer" to "Notes with Internet Explorer". This is under the Internet Browser" Tab. Everyone else in the company has it set to "Microsoft Internet Explorer", and it brings in pictures fine everytime, EXCEPT for this user who needs it set to "Notes with Internet Explorer". Very strange. Thanks again for all of your suggestions.
