Looking for assistance from someone who has experience rebuilding a TS CAL server. Using MF XPa on W2K servers in an NT4.0 domain. Terminal server licensing was installed incorrectly initially. Must consolidate to one server (now on multiple servers). Any known issues?? What happens to clients next time they connect (mostly W98 systems)? Should the redirection of TS licensing at each server be done with MetaFrame services stopped? Any advice that can be offered is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

If I get your meaning, you've currently got your TS Licensing server on one server and TS on another but want to consolidate your TS Licensing on your TS Server?

I'd recommend that you leave your TS Licensing server on a non-Citrix Server, and if you move to a W2K Active Domain, TS Licensing will only run on an AD machine. Hopefully, your not going to make your Citrix Server an AD machine!

I know I've not told you how to do what you ask but does this help any? Basically, keep them seperate!

Cheers,
Carl.

Hi Ogi,
Thanks for the response. I apologize for not being clearer in my description.

The TS Licensing service is running, but was not on just a member server. It was running on multiple servers, all TS servers in a Citrix farm. I was referred to a tech article from Microsoft (by a good friend)which describes how to add a registry entry to the Licensing servers'registry pointing them to a DefaultLicenseServer. MS Clearinghouse assisted in getting all licenses consolidated on one server. It is still a TS/Citrix server, but it is configured to take a very minimal load in serving published applications.

Seems to be working so far...
