I currently have 2 DNS servers running win2003 standard. It seems the guy before me has set these both up with primary zones. We occasionally have issues we think are related to DNS. I would like to rebuild these and make one with a primary zone and make the second a secondary zone of the first.
When I discussed this with the consultant we sometimes use he advises against this and says since the zones are AD integrated removing them both and rebuilding DNS would cause lots of issues. He recommends I hire him to do this.
I wonder if he is making much more of this to make some money. Do any of you see a huge problem with me removing both DNS servers over the weekend and building all new zones or would you recommend I just remove DNS from one of the servers and then reinstall it and create a secondary zone from the remaining server?
