For a long time I've experienced this problem but haven't tried hard to find a solution. I'm using MS2000 Analysis Services. I open Analysis Services, choose the database, and navigate down to "Shared Dimensions". I right click and choose "Process All Dimensions". I've got roughly 40 shared dimensions. All is proceeding nicely and then all of the sudden I get an error (sorry don't remember the exact error right now). Now if I select that specific dimension and choose "Rebuild Dimension Strucutre", the dimension will rebuild just fine. I may hit this on four or five different dimensions. Once I'm through the entire set, of course the "Process All Dimensions" works fine.

I'm thinking that this tends to happen the first time I reload the database. I'm in the habit of archiving my database on my development system and copying it to a client system and doing a restore. It's a bit of a pain in the tush so I'm wondering if there is something I can set that will solve this problem....
