Reboot virus?

I have a laptop that goes to the black and white screen asking if you want to boot in regular or safe mode when you first turn it on. No matter what you select it starts booting and then when it gets almost to the Windows Login Screen it starts over asking if you want to boot in regular or safe mode. I cannot get out of this loop.

Any thoughts on this? Virus or something else?

Did you do an update recently? This is a symptom of a problem patch (see thread779-1590709). You don't see a blue screen since the computer is probably set to reboot on an error.

Download, burn to CD, boot up on computer, change to English, scan.
