This is one of those things I used to know and have not used and forgot. I looked at the man pages for shutdown.
shutdown -y -g:0 -i6 seems to be what I remember.
When I look at the init man page it talks about an entry in inittab and so on. I never touched that before.
Is the above correct or do I need to make that change in inittab to make it work. Right now the inittab line is
is:S:initdefault:
Do I change the S to 2?
I anticipate needing to dial in and reboot a server this weekend.
