I've tracked the Samba server not responding problem to reassigning the client's eth0 IP addr. with ifconfig.
Client access to any share is good before IP reassignment.
After that the Samba server doesn't respond with errors;
SMB server not responding
Smb_get_length: recv error = 5
Smb_trans2_request: result=-5, setting invalid
Smb_retry: success, new pid=155, generation=2
After 30 seconds the client retrys and the server responds.
Why does reassigning the client's IP addr. with ifconfig cause the Samba server to stop responding?
Possably the router box that also does the DNS, doesn't like the client's IP being reassigned?
