One of my clients uses InoculateIT 4.53 on their network.

They have just installed two Windows 2000 machines and getting them to run InoculateIT properly is a bit of a headache.

Firstly a Power User does not seem to be able to carry out updates without logging on as a local Administrator (they run Netware not WinNT or W2K servers) unless the permissions on the relevant registry keys for CA are updated to allow them access.

Secondly whenever an update is done, RealMon comes up as disabled and all the options are greyed out on the pop-up menu except Exit..... I cannot find where this option is held in the Registry.....

Not a fat lot of use IMO :-(

Any ideas or am I going to have to break out the SysInternals utilities?

Cheers,

I am running Inoculate 4.53 on several win2k machines without any problems. I think all users have admin rights though.
There is driver update for Win2K and XP the file is drvupdi.exe (393K) Located here:

I have also installed latest updates, CA calls it Service Pack 1A. I don't think this is required but I highly recommend it to clean up several problems. Patches are here:

Couple of thoughts. One is update you drvupdi.exe (driver update file) as mentioned on the previous post. This will fix some machine. I still had a few that would not restart Realmon after the update even with SP1 and the new driver.

If you have anytype of advantage upgrade on the software i would recommend upgrading to Etrust6. It works great has a good remote install utilitie and is a heck of a lot more stable. (About the only product from CA that is). I have pushed out this version to over 400 pcs and only have one that is giving me grief and it is fixing to die anyways.

I have similar issues with our w2k clients. After the updates are completed, realmonitor just goes away. It is independent of whether the users are administrators or power users. We have the service pack installed and I have run the driver update on all clients. Any ideas?

Thanks
