Ive done a search on here, there are some historic posts on this subject but still need some advice on this matter:

I have a report which has a charge and currency field:

Currency Charge Rate GPB
AUD 1.23 ? ?
USD 0.86 ? ?
EUR 2.45 ? ?
etc

I need to convert these Charges to GBP and also show the conversion rate. Ive been told by our DBA's that doing this on Oracle is not feasible, so i need to do it in my report instead.

I just wondered what the best way is of doing this, and whether anyone is doing this in their reports who may be able to offer advice?

I'm thinking along the lines of putting the currency conversion rates in Excel, and then ensuring the Excel file is always in the same folder location, and then somehow linking this into my report (Oracle).

Anyone know of an automated Currency exchange update software from web to Excel which could be used, or even direct into Crystal?

Grateful for all advice here, thanks

If you are using CR-2008, you might be able to subscribe to one of BOBJ's OnDemand services for actual "Exchange Rates" as a secure XML data-source.

If they don't provide actual "Exchange Rates" as an XML they should.

I can see lot's of clients using it.
