How can I read the parameters of the URL of the page that contains tha movie?
For example: I've a page called by another with this URL

in this page there's a flash movie.
How can I read in that movie the value of "name"?
Thanks in advance Stevie B. Gibson

You have to do a loadVariables command, and then the HTML variable name and contents are loaded into the Flash movie, so in your case name would be loaded in, with the value myname.

(You need to choose the method as well, you use GET for variables in the page name (like yours) and POST to get variables from a form.

Think this is all right anyway.. hope it helps!

It does not work.
I tried with loadvariables but I've to pass to the function an URL...and if I do loadvariables(" no variables are loaded.

I solved the problem by passing the "name" into the "movie" parameter of the flash movie (using ASP) but...there's some better way? Stevie B. Gibson

Hmmmm... tricky one this ... and it should be v. easy too...
I will have a look for you as and when I can today and see what I can find. =)
