Reading returned XML

Hi, I'm very new to XML and I have to set up a credit card authorisation process using XML. I have an asp which creates and posts the XML in a form field to the ecommerce server. The ecommerce server then responds with XML which atm appears in the browser. How do I read this XML using asp? I presumed the response XML would be sent back to my url in a form field but it obviously isn't.
