Reading Query Item's Data in Java Script - Cognos 8

Is it possible to read/display a Query item's data in Java Script.

In other words, Can Database data accessed through Java Script.

you would be better off asking that question in a javascript forum.. it seems that you want to establish a connection to a db.. this would be totally outside the cognos product although you would probably use an html item. i am pretty sure you can do it.. but wouldn't know where to begin. it may be easier to consider reading through the list in the report. again, not a javascript expert.. but that sounds like an easier task to me.
