thanks.

when a connection is establish, what do i expect to see? what are the behaviour of the network (in terms of bits and bytes)?

win2k....
does it matter for what type of OS?

thanks for the reply

I just started with ethereal. At first I didn't understand anything from it but with the increase of knowledge about this material I recognize more and more of it.

A very important item is the OSI model.
Lots of things happening can be traced back to this model.
