I have a couple of HP printers and have been refilling the cartridges for some time but, upon refilling them the levels no longer read. Is there a way to make the levels read again?? I have also ran into this with some other brands.

Some of the cartridges have a microchip built in. They are date controlled. When they say empty, you're done. I'm surprised you got this far!

I normally get 6 to 8 refills out of any cartridge, color or black. The printer companies are stealing us blind with their high cartridge prices. Thanks for your input.

I didnt know HP was doing that as well. I heard that Lexmark was doing that.
I've heard the trick is to keep them filled up, dont let them go down too far.

Good advice + great people = tek-tips
