Hi.
We have networker server running on a win2K. We have added an AIX server to our backup solution, and we're getting this error when we try to recover a backup. This is an output of the error:

08/13/2003 11:08:47 AM nsrd: nodo1siacc:/opt/alex.prueba (8/13/03) starting read from 000304

08/13/2003 11:08:52 AM nsrd: media notice: Volume "000304" on device "rd=nodo1siacc:/dev/rmt4": Cannot decode block. Verify the device configuration. Tape positioning by record is disabled.
08/13/2003 11:08:52 AM nsrd: media info: can not read record 0 of file 5 on dlt8000 tape 000304

We have checked the block sizes in both Windows and AIX and they're supossed to be right. I read in another issue that changing the name of the device to /dev/rmt/4cnb might resolve the problem, but that worked on a local drive and I'm not quite sure if I can do that with remote devices.

Any help is welcome !!

The device name must be one that complies with the OS of the
storage node - it does not matter whether it is a local or
remote one.

it should also be the no-rewind device (usually the tape name with an n at the end, eg /dev/rmt/c0b0n.
