Can message content be read from the POA or the MTA? I thought the only way someone could read mail within a GW email account was via password?

Thanks
Mark

For a brief moment as a message is being delivered to or sent from a GroupWise mailbox, it is converted into a file which can be opened in notepad. If someone is somehow able to intercept those files (unlikely), then yes, they could read the message contained therein.

I must stress that this is extremely unlikely unless your GroupWise system is "sick" and running poorly. The system normally processes these files very quickly.

I am unaware of a way for someone to view the content of a message via the POA or MTA. They may be able to view some of the header information (to, from, subject, etc) from the log files.

Hope that helps.
