Reading Groupwise 5.5 with Microsoft Outlook 2000

Hi Guys,

Is it posible to read Groupwise 5.5 with Microsoft Outlook 2000. Do you need conversion software? A client of mine want's this, and I've seen it beeing done but I don't know what tool you need to get it done.

I believe it can be done. If you set up the addressing to pull from the GroupWise Address book and make sure all the components for the GroupWise system are installed under the Mail Icon in Control Panel.....

GroupWise Message Store
GroupWise Transport Provider
Novell Personal Address Book

You should be able to connect to the GroupWise system. Of course you may need to install the GroupWise client first to get those necessary control items, I'm not sure of any way to install them manually without installing the client. Once you get those items installed, then you would setup your Outlook client to use the Novell GroupWise services.

Of course I don't recommend this to anyone on a GroupWise system. I don't know of any problems that this would cause because I don't run my clients this way. Some of the others here may be able to tell you if this will cause problem down the road. But if the client is dead-set in their ways there is not much you can do but warn them of the related issues. Let us know if you need any further help with this issue...
