Dear Experts,

I am trying to get the hang of this Access with not much success. I want to read a piece of data from a table (which the user may enter in a form). This would then be passed to a query and would jump to the correct record.

At the moment, I have the buttons in place, I have the tables designed and I have the data in place. However when I enter the data into the first window, pressing the button does not take me to the required record, but to the first one in the table.

I thought a simple query would solve the problem but it isn't turning out like that,

Your help is appreciated,

Many thanks

Why not simply follow the Combo wizard ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Hi PHV,

Yes I have worked with the wizards. HOwever I want the user to work with a pre-designed form. When the Access database runs, it presents the user with a nicely designed screen.

The user then enters the bride and groom name into the relevant fields. The query then needs to read these two and search the database for the information. This is the problem I am having.

Is it possible to design a query and then a form to collect the search criteria? I have managed to create a form based on the output, but not the other way around.

I feel I am missing something obvious. Sorry.

Thanks

The query may use parameter like [Forms]![nice form name]![bride control]

Hope This Helps, PH.
