I'm reading the Arcserve 2000 Manual. OK I know it's not a proper male thing to do, especially since it is bringing up questions, which may be just stupid ones and I need to learn to read.
However, in the section on RAID, it is mentioning raid as being used with tape backups. Is this correct? It is setting up tape back-ups with raid. Or is it also possible to set it up to run raid back-ups on hard drives. And what about optical drives.
I guess my question actually is three fold:
1. Is it working raid to tape backup
2. Can it run a raid to hard drive for backup
3. Can it also be run as an optical backup...either CD or DVD

RAID in the Arcserve world refers to tape raid. This is the ability to write the data as it is backed up to multiple tapes simultaneously. We use the tape raid option with a dual-headed autoloader so that a copy of each nightly backup can be sent off-site and the other copy is kept internally for restore purposes...
