Reading a Transformer log for errors

Hello,
Why dont you use some functions to look for certain words like in unix "grep" for Transformer Server exiting - OK,
if you get it then ok else error and send email. I do this for reading through database log files for errors, if it gets them send an email otherwise proceed with next function etc..I am sure there is a dos command similar to this like "find"
