Is it possible in Perl to create a script that can read the "random images" that are sometimes used in registration and posting forms on websites?

Like the ones that contain a few numbers that change each time the page is loaded, and the user has to type them into a box to make sure it is a real person filling out the form. Is it possible for a script to actually read the numbers or letters?

You could write a script, but it's human perception that can determine patterns as approximations to characters, so programmatically you'd have to teach your script all the kindergarten reading skills, etc etc for it to be as smart as you.

People put those captchas on their website to prevent exactly what you're trying to do. Why are you trying to circumvent it? There may be a better way (or more likely, you just shouldn't be trying in the first place).
