Reading a CLOB in C which was created in Oracle

Hi,
I wanted to know if I could read a temporary CLOB created in Oracle and passed to a C function. If yes then how.
I have tried using OCI but maybe I am not doing it the correct way. If someone has tried this before then please tell me
