Reading 8.6 media using 8.5

Hi,
I have a customer who has BE 8.5 installed on 5 machines. He now needs to add an aditional media server and since he can't source version 8.5 anymore, he'll have to install 8.6. There is a general concern that BE 8.5 will not be able to read media written using 8.6.

Could you please shed some light on this.

Both Versions write to the tapes with the same format - MTF.
There should not be an issue there. Test a catalog and small redirect restore to prove the theory.
If the Backup Exec servers are in a SAN sharing the same storage device, make sure all Backup Exec copies are the same version.
