What kind of readerboards are people using with CCMS 6.0? I'm about to upgrade from Symposium, and if I'm going to invest I'd like to do it in the right technology. Anybody have something they love?
Our vendor is telling us that they used the classic client in Symposium to provide the readerboard functionality, and that since there is no classic client in CC6, we will have to purchase an upgrade to the readerboard controller. If we are going to have to invest more money, we are considering using another vendor or eliminating the readerboards entirely (and just using the real-time display on the PCs). Just wanted to hear what other people are doing.
Hmmm. There is no official classic client (at least not one Nortel will support). There is a utility available to do the stuff you can't do with the CCMA (most notable record voice segments if you still use Meridian Mail), which is supported.
That's not to say that the classic client doesn't work. It does. If it's anything like the Symon boards we used, you would just need a user account set up via the classic client (and the ability to reset its password). The Symon boards used to log into the database to rip the stats out directly.
Of course, getting it to work and getting the supplier to support it is another thing altogether. We were told we needed to upgrade our IVR for CCMS even though it worked on the previous IVR version. They wouldn't support it though, so we upgraded.
You will need to build an account in Server Utility on the CCMS server. (The same sysadmin account still exists, and you need to set a password for it when you install CCMS.)
Otherwise, I don't think that interface has changed.
Unless the customer has to have a certain function of a reader board, we tell our customers to go buy a $1000 LCD or Plasma and use an old PC that can do IE and use the web client to display stats.
