Paradox 9.

I have a report with an environment string field as a report heading. However, if the report is blank, i.e. no records in the answer, I still want the heading to appear. But the environment string field just doesn't show.

The field formula is :

ReadEnvironmentString("CRITERIA")

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Martin

Martin,

If the readEnvironmentString() field is in the header of the report is should appear even if the report is blank. If the field is in a group header then it will only appear is there are records in that group.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, Perrin. However, my field is in the report header.

It's a fairly simple report. Just a master and a lookup table. I've even tried creating a blank report with the same fields in the header and it still doesn't work.

However, just as I'd pulled out the last of my hair and was about to start on my teeth, I was beginning to suspect a pdox bug, But then I put the fields wholly within a text field. Hey presto, it works!

Paradox - keep the faith.

Thanks for your assistance

Martin
