readable fonts in Mozilla

Why can't I seem to get a readable font in Mozilla? Browsers under windows seem to have much better fonts.
 
Thanks I think that is what I want although I haven't got it set up yet.
 
Also, any of the latest offerings from Redhat and Mandrake have font-anti-aliasing support which basically means nice smooth fonts in your browser.
