Spoke with an Avaya Tier 3 guy yesterday who clued us in on how to re-launch DCT(T stands for Terrible!)without a full system re-load.
There are 4 files in the install folder that need to be deleted, then the DCT executable can be double-clicked.
If the errors are corrected, the config will complete successfully.
One of the files should be viewed and or copied before deletion-the mmrep.xml file is an error log of sorts.
The files to be deleted are;
mmproc.xml
mmrep.xml
mmstat.xml
gbgstat.xml
Then double-click the executble and complete the config.
Happy trails

That is good information to know.

I'm curious about what errors you needed to correct to complete successfully?

This was my 1st mm-no training either, just the books!
That said,I was just re-loading an existing DCT and back-up disk from a MSS to re-load on 2 new boxes. These new boxes are replacing a system in the states that runs off an LSP.LSP converting to stand-alone.
Customer wants no down time,so they purchased 2 new boxes.
It's good to be the KING!
The re-load of the MSS inexplicably failed, and I had to program manually.
Apparently I had some password and Alis errors on 1 of the config screens.
How do you actually troubleshoot this thing?
where's the book that gives you detail on how this beast comes up?How can you know what's wrong when you don't know the steps in the process?
I guess I need a comprehensive course from Avaya.

I've had to reload software because it "just didn't work" or becuase the DCT errored out then wouldn't run again. I always wondered how to restart it. That's great!
