Read stacked media 4mm tape

My 4mm tape is down and i try to read the media of S.O. from another 4mm tape in another machine not IBM. Only i can see this message :IBM - RESERVED FILE -
I need to read this tape for my problem whit installation... !!!Thank

what u want to say that other m/c is non-ibm or tape drive is non-ibm?
if u r using a non-ibm tape drive check whether it is supported by rs6000
arch. or not;chck proper device drivers installed or not?

I guess you are trying to read a tape made with AIX's [tt]backup[/tt] command using another UNIX; but that is a propietary format, you cant (well... without developing your own software for that).
