i want to give people access to see a folder-listing thru Apache, how do i set that up, i now get this error-report:

Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the Webmaster

thanks in advance,
rudeboy.

If this directory is not under your DocumentRoot then you need to create a directory container for it. Then use the main DocumentRoot container as an example to see what directives should go in there. I don't allow directory listing so I'm not sure how that works. I thought it was the default if you didn't have an index page in that dir. You might try FancyIndexing with the IndexOptions directive and see if that works. Like I said, I'm not too hip to that jive. :) I looked at your httpd.conf and terror struck my heart. Do any of your vhosts work?
