Hi everybody,
In ms excel you can have it so that when a file is opened a message pops up that says something along the lines of "This file should be viewed in Read-only mode unless you need to edit it." And it is then followed by buttons to choose from such as "Read-only" and "Edit" (something like that). Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to havea similar message pop up if someone tries to open one of the tables in my database. I don't want it to necessarily be a Read-only file, I just want to let people know that they shouldn't be messing around with it unless they really need to be.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Phil

I guess a better question would be, is there any way to set a password for one specific table instead of the whole database?

Thanks for the quick reply KenReay,

Phil

Hi

Why not set up the database so that users do not access tables directly.

You should make it so that they only access the data via forms and reports, that way you can control what they are doing in terms of data validation etc

Good idea, I hadn't thought about it that way.

Thanks for your help,
