Hi, I would like to give an additional group of users access to a Access 2000 database but read only. Currently the database is split to a front end and a back end, and is fully editable. What would be the easiest way to accomplish this?

Thanks

The easiest way to do this would be to institute user-level security and make a group for people who can read data but not edit, add, or delete data. Have all the new users be members of that new group only. The original users would be members of a group with more complete permissions.

If you haven't used security before, it's a bit of a bear, but well worth the effort. I've got a copy of the FAQ on my website. Read it several times, back up your database, and secure it. Then test it to make sure it's secured. It's quite commmon to miss a step or two the first times through the process. But this is really the way I would suggest you go to accomplish this task.
