Hi,

I work for a school district and we use squid and squidguard as a cache proxy and for content filtering.

Today, something weird started happening. We cannot access google.com If you type the URL into a web browser, it appears to hang. If you wait long enough (20 seconds or so), you get the following:

[ignore]ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL:
The following error was encountered:

* Read Error

The system returned:

(104) Connection reset by peer

An error condition occurred while reading data from the network. Please retry your request.

Your cache administrator is webmaster.

I am not sure where to begin to look! I've cleared the cache and reviewed the config file. I am at a loss. Nothing changed and it's been working for years!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

I forgot to mention, we can access other web sies. I am accessing tek-tips from work as I speak. :) It only feels that google.com is the troubled site so far.

I've taken the route statement out that passes all web traffic through our squid box, and Google comes up no problems. I know it's something with Squid...I just don't know what!!

Thanks again for any help.
