good day to all....
im having trouble with my (OS)WindowsXP home edition, after rebooting my pc,this message (you have only 5days to reactivate your windows etc....) so i scape that and after five days i having trouble to get in to windows.. and i need to get my files...how can i reactivate my WindowsXP? what should i do? somebody help me pls...

thanks....

When you get the message to re-activate, you should be given a phone number to call. You will have to call to get re-activated. By the way, the first time you activate, you can do it online - re-activation has to be done on the ohone. Why, I don't know - it is done by computer both ways!

If you need to get to your files you could download Active@ ReadNTFS from if your hard drive is NTFS or you could boot up using a DOS Floppy disc.
Why didn't you activate XP when you where warned?
Easy for me to say I know.

Starting with Windows XP, Microsoft has started implenting an activation requirement on its software. You basically have to register the product or it stops working correctly after its trial period is over. This is to cut down on piracy.

To get the phone number to call Microsoft and activate your product, run the Activation Wizard. Be sure to have your computer handy because you'll be required to interact with it.

this doesn't seem a harddrive issue, but you can think it that way, if you just want to get your file out of it(and not concerning your XP OS)---there's many Linux bootable live CD that will boot off your CD-ROM and run complete file system solely from the CD, even connect to internet if you're broadband ready.
some of them capable of mount NTFS, so you can read files and save it to somewhere (network drive, USB pen drive, floppies ...)

just search google with linux rescue
