We are using CR 7.0 and have been using, in some instances, Crystal Queries to help generate the reports. One thing that has been noticed is that when we change the Crystal query, the entire report needs to be re-developed.

Is there anyway, using Crystal Query, go get around re-developing the reports when the query changes?

Thanks,
MHamm

hammer02: The thing which will trigger a re-write is a change to the query which results in tablenames changing (e.g. drop a table). If you can modify your query to include any new tables and fields as well as the old ones (even though that may mean initially your query and report won't run) then you can open the report, deselect the fields no longer required, insert the new fields needed and re-save the report. You can then go back to the query, delete the table no longer required and hey presto your query and report will (should?) work! David C. Monks
