To save a lot of work I want to create a new SSIS package which is based on an existing project/installed package. The end result will be that both packages will be installed/running on the same server.

What’s the best approach for this, save the project again using ‘save as’? copy and re-paste the package in BIDS>solution explorer? or other?

I’m aware about ExecutionInstanceGUID’s and variables/scope etc and this is the main reason for trying to understand the best approach and any pitfalls.

Thanks in advance.
