I am looking to re-use some old-ish Windows 98 PC's as thin clients to connect to a Windows 2003 Terminal Server using Remote Desktop.

What's the best way to configure the Windows 98 PC ? Ideally i'd like to disable access to the local PC completely so that only the connection to the remote server is allowed.

Is there some form of connection manager available.

Any ideas/tips or suggestion would be greatfully appreciated.

Regards

David

Thanks, but I have the remote desktop client installed.

What I am most interested in is how to lock down the PC so that only the RDP Client can run and not any other application locally on the PC.

I have some Wyse Thin Clients which (based on Win CE) also have a connection manager which allow you to configure your remote connections and automatically login to them.

I was hoping there was something available for Win98 based devices

Thanks for replying anyway

You would need to look at POL files to attempt to lock them down. Of course it is 98 so there is no real security.

Use POLEDIT to lock it down.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
