I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question.

I am running XP Pro.

The stored images from the Sony camera are 3M and look fine... but I want to e-mail them... say 100B size.

Up till now I have loaded up Adobe (or Paint) and re-sized the picture and saved. A nuisance for several photos.

Is there a faster way of doing it ? Is there a macro for Paint that would speed the process?

Thanks

Apologies again if this is the wrong forum.

CORRECTION That should be

"The stored images from the Sony camera are 3M and look fine... but I want to e-mail them... say 100K size."

Also I am trying to use Hotmail as the email program... so I believe I have to creates a new (smaller) file.

Use the native resizer utility:

In Windows Explorer, right-click the saved .jpg file, Sent to, Mail recipeint, and a resizer option box should open. If it does not, fix the resizer utility:
A stand-alone resizer is available as part of the "Powretoys" package from Microsoft as freeware:
Personally, I would install and use IrfanView. With it installed you can use Explorer, double click any image, and resize an image among other features. Freeware:

Thanks BC ...

I will play with that.

I had irfanview on another computer.

To answer your macro question, I can't speak for Adobe and I don't think Paint has anything but most graphic program like Paint Shop Pro have macros recorders. Start it, go through the sequence and save it then you can batch run it on a number of photos which can include renaming them or saving them as a different format or location.

Are these files created as .bmp from your camera? You might first want to convert them to .jpg before you do any "display size" resizing.

Like the Heading; Re-sizing a JPG image; they are jpgs already.

Thanks to everyone... I will have to wait till tomorrow to have a go at these ideas...

Cheers.
