Re-routing email destined for an external domain to an internal address

Hi All

I have an issue where we have users using their private gmail accounts to communicate sensitive data instead of their corporate addresses. This has been a pain in backside for a while now.

My question is this. Is it possible to intercept a message being sent from my domain, and instead of routing it out to the external gmail address, re-route it to the intended recipients internal email address.

Example.

Jane sends an email to Bob. However instead of sending to bob@mycompany.com she sends to bob@gmail.com. I want to prevent that message from leaving, and re-route it to bob@mycompany.com. Thus Bob still gets the message sent, but it never leaves the domain.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Oh we are on Domino 9.01

The issue I see with that is what tells the server that the bob on gmail is the same bob as the internal bob.
Because basically you're asking for a rule that says that any prefix that corresponds to an internal name goes internal, I see some issues with that.
Maybe, just maybe, a better solution might be to disable Recent Contacts. An article on IBM's support forum ( tells you the how and why to do that.

Pascal.

I've got nothing to hide, and I demand that you justify what right you have to ask.
