Hello
Using version 10 - it's working ok
however, i notice that after backup completes, these two services stop and i have to restart them every morning to get them ready to go for the night backup
Is this normal or is BE10 stopping them when it should not?

Should be set to manual and only called on when a VSS requestor "BackupExec" resquest something from them.

Are you saying that they BE will activate them as needed even if they are not started?

right. If you check the app/system log you should see them starting stopping when it backs up the shadow copy components

I have the same problem when I use BackupExec 9.1 SP4. It stops the shadow services then for some reason it reboots or in some cases the server stops responding. I'm running Server 2003 SP1.

Anyone have any ideas as to why the server would reboot or stop responding (requiring a hard boot)?
