Re: Microsoft Publisher...I need to know if there is a way to 'pare' the space above and below text that is specific to fonts (I am sure there is some name for this 'space')
...some fonts use more space than others and so far the only way I have been able to get rid of the extraneous space is to save as a picture and crop...this creates horible image quality. I do not want to change the font I am using. Any ideas or answers would be fabulous!

Hi westendal,

If the space is built into your font, there isn't much you can do because Publisher (or most any software) works with the font 'proper' rather than the way it looks.

The only thing I can think which might help is line spacing. I don't know exactly how it does it but if the line spacing is small enough the lines overlap so maybe you can, with a bit of trial and error, find an overlap which fits your needs.

Select your text and either (a) right click > Change Text > Line Spacing... or (b) Format > Line Spacing... - then change the Between Lines value.

Enjoy,
Tony
