re-installed XP o/s now dbase win 5.0 programs don't run

Was running dbase windows 5.0 prior to system failure with no problems. Have reinstalled Windows XP home edition o/s and dbase. Commands that worked prior to crash no longer work. Dot matrix Epson printer no longer prints correctly. Reports do not print. I have installed windows service paks 1&2 with no change. New set up doesn't like the @ command for example. Any suggestions as to where to start trouble shooting is appreciated.
