Hi! I am new to the board and somewhat new to Adobe InDesign. My company just landed a HUGE InDesign (in v2.0) project and we are still overcoming the learning curve here and there. One issue that we are having has to do with appending styles sheets from one InDesign file to another.

Quite often in our workflow, we have to create new paragraph and character styles and add them to out templates on the fly. In Quark, we would typically append only the required style sheets rather than all of them. Is there a simple way to do this in Adobe InDesign.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can create a blank InDesign document for each of your style sheet sets.

When you are working on your actual document, you can import the pre-set style sheet from the style palette's fly-out menu. It will ask for the blank INDD document that you had created earlier.

You can also create a book in InDesign, set up the styles in the book, and then create new documents to add to the book. It will pull the styles over.
