a. I wanted to know if faq955-6699 applies to MS Exchange Small Business Server too? or just MS Exchange 2003?
b. How can I see if I have Service pack 1 or 2 in exchange?
c. How can I reduce my stm file? The total size of all my mailboxes in only 12gb but my total size in teh directory is showing 18gb.

a) The Exchange in SBS 2003 is Exchange 2003. There is no practical difference.
b) Look in Exchange System Manager. Drill down and click the "servers" object. On the right screen you can adjust the columns to expose the type of Exchange (standard, enterprise, cluster etc. - yours will obviously just say standard) and what the version, sp level and build number is.
c) You don't touch it. There is only a 6GB difference in your calculation and the store size. If anyone suggests that you do an offline defrag on that store you should never listen to that person ever again. Look in the application event log for event id 1221. That will tell you the amount of free space in the store. This means that the store will physically stay the same size even as more mail goes into the server. When the database has used up all of its free space the store will start to grow. Do not worry that the 6GB difference isn't fully accounted for by the 1221 message. There are other nuances that you don't need to worry about, one of them being "Deleted Item Retention" but there are others.

When you apply SP2 the default store size is lifted to 18GBm not 75GB. You follow the registry edits (read the release notes on the SP) to go up to 75GB.

a. As Mark says, it is Exchange.
b. As Mark says.
c. You say STM but you don't mention edb. You need to take the sum of both.
