Hi Everyone,

I'm using Crystal Reports XI.(I also have all the service packs and updates) which is linked though an ODBC Connection to a Stored Procedure.

My crystal report has a main report and a sub report which is linked by Date and Provider. (The user is prompted to select provider(s) and a "To" and "From" date range). This report has been working fine for months but now I'm getting the following error message and can't seem to figure out why.

Prompting failed with the following error message: 'List of Values failure: Fail to get values. [Cause of error: Database connector Error: [Database Vendor Code:208]
Unknown.RPT]

Error source: prompt.dll Error Code:0x8004380D.

Can anyone tell me what this means?

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a dynamic parameter isn't able to update, perhaps a table has changed or some such.

Is the error directly in CR, or in Crystal reports Server, or?

Try checking the parameter(s), and also do a Database->Verify Database within the CR Designer.

Hello,

Thanks for your quick response. This one really has be baffeled...
The error is directly in CR. There has been no changes to the tables or database. I did a verify database and it checked out fine. I checked the parameters and they seem to be fine. I've checked the ODBC Connection and created a new on just to make sure it wasn't the problem and It works fine. I've checked the permissions to make sure the permissions were ok and the permissions are fine.

I also have an Access Database that uses linked tables into the same server but a different database and updates the linked tables from a database that is downloaded each day. This error messages is ODBC--Insert on a linked table 'dboResponses' failed. [Midcrosoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Timeout expired (#0). Each time this errors out the table name changes. I've also check this and can't come up with anything wrong.

This application also has been working fine for months. But now has been erroring out each day.

Any Suggestions??? Thanks so much for all your help!

It sounds like something did indeed change on the database.

If I understand you correctly, both crystal and a separate Access application are now complaining about connectivity.

Try connecting to the server using a new Access link to the database, does it work?

Perhaps it is timing out?

Seems like a server side problem to me.

Hello,

Ya...I'm thinking the same thing but can't figure out what changed...Except The nic card was upgraded to a faster card and we had some network switches that have been changed. I tried to connect to the server using a new Access Link to the database and get the same error message(s). It doesn't seem to be timing out. I get this error message within 1 to 2 seconds.

Thanks again for your quick response.

Well it isn't a Crystal issue.

Since you'reposting to the web, it appears that the card is working correctly for some things, perhaps there's some security which requires a MAC address or some such for security reasons.

Try your login on another nachine, if it works there, then get the plumbers (network people) back up there to straighten it out.
