Ok I seem to have mis-diagnosed a previous post and didnt get a reply and rightly so.

sO i try again with correct info.

I am using dynamic extension to fork calls between OCS MOC clients and mitel desk phone. One problem I have is that when a MOC client answers an external call and the PSTN caller hangs up, the MOC client is presented with dial-tone. I belive this is how dynamic extension works using external hotdesking. This results in the MOC clients having to disconnect their call manually even after the PSTNcaller has hung up.

Anybody know a work around for this so that once the caller hangs up, the external hotdesk user will hang up as well ?

It does act like an internal extension correct, but if a pstn calls comes into an internal set and if the external pstn caller hangs up, the internal set hangs up, but not with EHDU.

is this set up as a 'external only EHDU'?

note from MCD 4.0 training notes:

to create an outbound only EHDU, omit the PIN in multiline ip set configuration or user configuration form and enable the Permanent Login - External only COS option. This is the recommended method if including non-Mitel extensions in a Mitel hunt group or other type of group.
Outbound-only EHDUs cannot originate calls from the ICP and have their corporate (telephone directory) name and number presented to the called party.

Not sure if there is a work around. You have to seperate calls the first the incoming external which does clear down as you say, but the second is an outgoing call to your OCS which I think will act like an internal extension as you describe and supply dial tone so the user can perform another action. Look forward to others responses.

thanks for the responses guys. Ive already been through the
training notes and been through almost everything. Correct me if Im wrong here but the following from the notes :

By default, calls to an external hot desk user's DN are answered by the user going offhook
and pressing any key on the dial pad. The alternative, which is controlled by the
'External Host Desk User - Push to Talk' COS option, requires only going off-hook.

From my understanding, in order to answer a call, one key to go off-hook and then another key to answer, sooooo if i enable "push to talk" i.e one key to answer .....then would this also mean a single disconnect from the PRI trunks clear the moc client down ??????????
