Re-defining column name "length" (Access)

Quick question: is it possible to redefine the # of characters allowed in a table's column name?

I believe the # of chars. maximum is around 60, FYI

The number of characters in a [blue]Field Name[/blue] is a specification set by microsoft. [surprise]

Actually, it's a 64 character limit, and how in the world would you deal with field names any longer, or even that long, for that matter?
