I'm developing a database using exisiting data from DBase tables. I have imported data into access table. The PIN number format is the primary key of table. I would like to be to add data using current PIN format. Last entry is 1172 and would like to know how to have the next entry have 1173. Hope this explains enough.

I think you mean that you want to have the PIN field be an AutoNumber type.

Have a look at thread181-64510 for some ways to handle starting AutoNumber at a specific number. Try a search on "Autonumber" in the FAQS of all the Access forums on Tek-tips for some other tips and tricks.

Or, I've completely misunderstood the point of your question!!

Thx, Me thinks this is what I have been looking for. I do have some other questions but not until next week.
